about the topic of dialogue, “ which is not only the practice of mediation, but also essential to any attempt to reason.” The author outlines the need for this practice in the American context, and uses Colombia, Cuba, United States, and Venezuela as references in order to discuss the new climate generated by the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States. He highlights the need for the changes needed in Cuba to take place, especially in the area of freedoms, as a response to this noble action of opening the way for conversation and discussion about topics of mutual interest. He then goes on to talk about the peace process between the Colombian government and the FARC, and the political crisis in Venezuela. When referring to this, he emphasizes that there aren’t any diplomatic solutions to conflicts, nor there is a tendency towards better relations between the two governments. Ashanti Peru closes this issue with its National Meeting for Young Indigenous People and Afro-Peruvians Facing Climate Change. Their objectives and projects are focused on empowering young people and creating a joint action plan to strengthen their influence on public policies.
