idol. Kid Chocolate garnered constant attention,
not only from the media, but also enormous
crowds both inside and outside Cuba.
Finally, the artistic world of puppets and their
value for recreating stories and legends of cultural
and educational value is the subject of Víctor Manuel Cantely’s “Guachipilín in the Miracle Corner.” The presentation of “nica” puppets at an international event that took place in Cuba was essentially “an act of love for Cuba, its past and its
future.”
It is our sincere wish that this issue is revealing of
many of Cuba’s current realities, realities whose
meaning become multiplied when most of those
who are writing about them actually represent the
people whose day-to-day problems the articles
discuss.
