Arles de Río’s novel, urban intervention,
La resaca [The Undercurrent], is an installation piece whose resources and
media express the Environment and
Land Art. He recreates an interactive
installation of an artificial beach on a
grand scale. It denotes the effects of a
pleasant night in Havana and is also,
simultaneously, an invitation to reflect
on the city’s physical deterioration. The

painting La resaca evokes general malaise in which a long night of unmeasured fun becomes gorged after the consumption of too much alcohol, enough to
cause a coma and a subsequent depressive state. This work establishes a communicative bridge with another piece by
the same artist exhibited at Zona Franca:
Otros Aires.
