T
he Cuban revolution is over. Yet,
the frozen myth of its narrative is
not. Neither has its imaginary,
which should actually be celebrated. Concepts such as social equity, sovereign democratic practice, institutionalism and a State
of Law still persist, although distorted, in
the way Cuban society considers itself and
sees itself in the future. It also persists in
the kind of minimal, everyday coexistence
people talk about in order to survive. All
this continues firmly despite the collapse of
any society’s three, basic premises: the
economy, the nation-building project, and
its leadership.
