hen I stop and review all
those years of my past life
into which I invested all my
dreams and efforts, I constantly look for
the meaning of those slogans with
which my childhood and youth identified. Yes, we had to work and study for

a better future, and I believed them. I
put discipline, will, abilities, intelligence, talents, all that was necessary, in
the hands of those who imposed on me
the belief that here, in Cuba, we were
going to have a better future in times to
come.
