on December 12-13, 2014. It was organized by the Citizens’ Committee for
Racial Integration (CIR), and examined
the reality and inequality with which

Cuba’s blacks contend. The event coincided with the beginning of the U.N.’s
International Decade for People of African Descent (2014-2024). This article’s
goal is to get at the forum’s essence
and, above all, reveal Cuba’s reality
from the forum’s perspective.
