Women who are victims of violence are subjected
to a system of control and oppression that is imposed by their own workmates, husbands, partners or boyfriends, often Afro-descendants too,
who violate their rights and integrity as people.
Under this violent regime, it is difficult for
women to mentally and physically realize themselves in an optimal manner. Generally, they have
low self-esteem and isolate themselves. This situation only worsens when there is a lack of public
services for the prevention of violence or that provide support.
Strengthen black leadership
Given this panorama, it is urgent for Afro-descendants to organize, achieve higher leadership
positions, and confront a historical responsibility
to influence democratic institutions so that they
promote the development and inclusion of black
populations, and improve their quality of life. It is
essential to work arduously to ensure a better future for children and all future generations, a future in which the human rights of blacks are respected, there is sufficient food and housing,
good healthcare and education are guaranteed,
and no one is discriminated against or treated like
second-rate citizens because of his or her race or
gender.
