In the penitentiary where we were waiting for the sentences, the inmates could watch football games on TV. We learned about the CHTV broadcast by an inmate of another prison detachment, who recognized us and showed solidarity without concealing his astonishment by the willy-nilly repercussion of the case. Nobody who knew about the incident believed us. They told us that, at least, we had robbed or broken the bus, or we were hiding a bigger tragedy. In the prison courtyard, we met another inmate convicted to only two years for breaking the bus windows and even another one sentenced to three years for a serious injury caused during a scuffle on a bus. We did not understand. Our faces were the only thing broken that night, due to the impact of fists and boots. And we were the only ones seriously injured. Two days after the trial, we were transferred to Canaleta Prison( Matanzas Province). There we learned, two months later, that the judge presiding our trial and her auxiliary staff were involved in illegal actions and ended up being sanctioned. I spent a year and five months there.
