Kék Madár Alapítvány (this translates as ‘the Blue Bird Foundation’), formed in 1997,
aims to train, support and provide opportunities for those who have faced difficulties
succeeding in the economic realm due to their disability, lacking competency or
inadequate skills. [7] Their mission is to contribute to an inclusive society, where self-
realization and the freedom of choice are rights granted to everyone. Thus, through
their comprehensive services, they have successfully established different businesses
and programmes, that not only employ and cater for the disadvantaged, but signify the
legitimacy of their focus. Their Ízlelő restaurant exclusively employs disabled
individuals, assisting their social integration in a gastronomic environment. [8]
Another excellent example of Hungarian Social Enterprise is Esőemberekért Egyesület
(this translates as ‘the Association for Rain Men’), which assists autistic individuals by
establishing an environment with professional, multi-disciplinary care. [9] While 6
