A census was conducted at St. Marcellinus Secondary School of 100 students (50 Female and 50 Male) in each grade (9-12), if believed that scientific theories gave us truth. These were the results of the poll

Out of the 100 people surveyed, 36 people accepted the Instrumentalist view point (A theory is only acceptable if it allows us to make accurate predictions). 49 people accepted the Realist view point (Only if it corresponds with the real world). Finally 15 people accepted the Conceptual Relativist view point (Only if it fits in with the scientific community’s system of beliefs about the world).
