IPACK-IMA certified by the US Government

Following the recent agreements with INTERPACK aimed at creating a reference network for companies operating in the processing and packaging sectors, IPACK-IMA has taken a further important step forward in strengthening its world leadership position.

The most important trade fair for the food and non-food processing and packaging sectors in 2018, due to be held in the FieraMilano exhibition centre from 29 May to 1 June, has received the prestigious Trade Fair Certification (TFC) from the Commercial Service of the US Department of Commerce. This recognition is granted exclusively to international exhibitions capable of offering US companies access to expanding markets with good business and export growth opportunities.

“The certification granted to IPACK-IMA 2018 further strengthens the close collaboration between Fiera Milano and the US Consulate’s Commercial Department”, said Robert Peaslee, Principal Commercial Officer at the US Consulate in Milan. “The US Commercial Service’s mission is to support American companies in creating and developing strong international relations. With partners like IPACK-IMA we can be sure that American companies will have the opportunity to expand their presence in Italy and abroad. IPACK-IMA is an ideal event for helping our companies promote processing and packaging technologies.”

“We are very proud of this latest recognition, which further strengthens our relationship with the United States,” commented IPACK-IMA Chairman Riccardo Cavanna. “Our links with the country are further strengthened by the participation at the show of numerous companies with branches in North America and by the institutional positions held by several business leaders in trade associations such as PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies. One of the strengths of IPACK-IMA is without question its ability to attract players from the Middle East and Africa, regions that enjoy strong growth prospects through to 2020 when the packaged product market is estimated to reach sales of 211 billion units (compared to 163 billion in 2015)” he said.

Visitors from the region will join those from Europe, South America and other parts of the world who are keen to discover the latest innovations offered by the more than 1,000 Italian and international companies present at the exhibition and find out more about current trends in technology and markets, including anti-counterfeiting and traceability, e-commerce and digitisation of production, sustainability, and premium and smart packaging.

The certification follows very strict selection criteria and further enhances the prestige of the show, which already stands out for its steady growth and strong international scope in terms of exhibitors, visitors and buyers. The exhibition’s focus on cutting-edge technology and its ability to anticipate future trends were further important factors in the awarding of the certification.
