Sitting on Main Street in downtown Salmon
is the historic and versatile McPherson’s Furniture store. The
store, built in 1902, includes men and women’s clothing and
shoe departments that incorporate styles from modern to western, a jewelry section, and a furniture department that has everything to outfit a house from top to bottom with a full section of
name brand home accents and decorating items.
“In our clothing sections some of our offered brands include
Levi, Carhart, Pendleton, Woolrich, and Wrangler,” explained
owner Ken Beller, “and in boots we have Aria for men and Dansk shoes for women. Additionally, we carry Montana silver belt
and shoe buckles, and in the jewelry department we offer western designed silver necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.”

Leadore was established in 1911 as a mining
and railroad town. This imposing Rocky-Mountain valley is inhabited principally by large ranches and three small communities, the largest of which is Leadore. The region has high-alpine
lakes and offers hunting and fishing, backpacking, trail riding,
