Idaho Deer Hunter Magazine Winter 2012/2013, Issue #3 | Page 5

From the Rack Room

Wow, time again for another issue. As we move forward in the revamping of our organization there are going to be growing pains. Some of them may be small and not detectable, others may be easily seen. With this issue there are few more changes.
The first BIG change is the paper choice. In an effort to print more copies per issue, we have elected to change to a more cost friendly paper. By doing this we were able to increase our total number of copies by 50 %, while lowering the cost by 25 %. This will also give us more monies for the ground projects in the upcoming year.
You may also notice our advertising is increasing as well. We are always looking to gain new companies to help us get our word out. So, if you can help or know someone who can, please send them our way! We are also looking to add a‘ classified’ section. If you have a service or an item to sell, and you would like a state wide ad, email us. We will work at getting you going.
I have had a question concerning wildlife( deer) projects for us to be involved in. Well, now is the time! In this issue you will see a flyer about a planting project. This is a one month project to take place in the Boise foothills. Approximately 1,200 acres of winter range was damaged in last summer’ s fires. The planting is a two-step process, so help is greatly needed! Now is the time to show our support and work to help our wildlife( deer). The flyer will give you the details.
Lastly, but not by order of importance, it is Banquet Season! There are a lot of organizations that will welcome your support. We are hoping that ours is high on your list of attending. This year’ s banquet is going to be a blast! It will be Ike’ s last as Banquet Chairman, and we want to make sure he ends it with a bang! Our firearms alone are over $ 10,000 in value, and many, many more prizes to win! It will be at the Nampa Civic Center. There will be great food, great friends, great information, and great fun to be had. The flyer and sign-up are in this issue as well. Hoping you are able to make it and join us, we look forward to seeing you!
