And lastly , why loan out your favorite rifle ? Who is going to take better care of it than you ? At best , the whole time it ’ s gone you ’ ll be worried to death . At worst , it will come back corkscrewed around their 4- wheeler when they rolled it 7 times . Treat your rifle with kid gloves and it will shoot straight for years .
TIPS -Don ’ t lay the barrel on anything while shooting .
-Check different manufacturers and weights of bullets to see which shoots best in your gun .
-When sighting in your rifles use binoculars / spotting scope so you don ’ t have to run down to check shot placements or you ’ ll be out of breath .
-A hot barrel affects your group . Light barrels are more susceptible to overheating . -Never buy reloads unless you know the guy . Once I bought some at a gun show that were too hot and blew the firing pin back through the bolt . -If a shot doesn ’ t sound or kick like normal , remove the bolt and look down the barrel to ensure that it ’ s not plugged . This could cause a disaster on the next shot . -Start off using cheaper ammo then dial it in with your high dollar ammo .
