Long-term care and disability insurance
The residual effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have left people feeling concerned about their long-term health . To gauge the pandemic ’ s influence on American consumers ’ thoughts and actions related to early death , disability and long-term care needs , MDRT surveyed 1,051 U . S . adults in July of 2021 .
The recent MDRT survey found that although consumers are feeling more anxious , they often underestimate their likelihood of acquiring a long-term disability before reaching retirement age or needing long-term care after age 65 . This highlights the need for advisors to ensure their clients feel protected by their existing coverage , provide them additional coverage if relevant , and keep them informed on key trends and potential risks .
