ICY SCIENCE: SCIENCE SPACE ASTRONOMY Spring 2014 | Page 6

6 If there was an ideal way to get kids to see the stars no matter what the weather, a mobile planetarium is a must in my honest opinion. Over the years they have been used increasingly by outreach events as a means of inspiring children and indeed the more mature into science. I have delivered a fair few of these shows now to schools and public events, though without doubt it is hard work organisating batches of up to 30 adults and children to come and sit into what I suppose amounts to and indeed looks like an inflatable igloo to sit on the floor staring at the wall.
