Welcome to the High School at ICS , where your child will have unique and exciting opportunities that will challenge them to be a positive influence and empowering them to excel in their world . Our learning environment is focused on the holistic development of every student using a highly effective and personalized learning approach as well as fostering social-emotional well-being and confidence .
Caring , experienced , and enthusiastic faculty encourage students to utilize and refine key transferable skills ( creativity , critical thinking , and collaboration ) and to recognize and apply core learning dispositions ( resilience , inquisitiveness , and compassion ). Throughout their high school learning journey , students are supported as they grow to become independent , reflective learners who gradually take responsibility for their own lives and upon graduation will leave ICS with the desire and capacity for making positive change in the world around them .
G11 INTERNSHIP
Every year ICS high school students in Grade 11 are immersed in an Internship Program as part of the CAS requirements for the IB Diploma . The ICS Internship program takes students out into the community for weeklong experiential learning in the real world .
The aim of the ICS Internship Program is to provide opportunities beyond the classroom for students to engage in learning experiences . ICS partners with businesses and organizations that will take students for a week of real-life work .
For a week , students are expected to work a 9 to 5 jobs . The ICS Internship Program is designed to help students understand the skills , dispositions , and knowledge needed to succeed in the workplace .
Businesses and organizations that typically provide internships include : Banking , Health , Technology , Hospitality , Auto Repair , Event Planning , Communications & Advertising , NGOs , UN entities , Retail , Service , and Factories .
