The event was scheduled to hold across 3 regions in
Nigeria: North, South East, and South West.
After a successful northern regional skills competition,
which was held in Kaduna in April, iCreate hosted
the South-East edition in Enugu at the Kobb Civic
Centre of Polo Park Mall on the 19th -20th July. The
competition hosted 50 competitors across 10 skilled
trades: Tiling, Carpentry, Plumbing, Tailoring, Make-Up
Art, Leatherworks, Art, Graphics design, Web design,
and Cooking. Competitors were required to execute a
test project designed by the appointed iCreate expert
within 13 hours.
The 2-day event was witnessed by hundreds of guests
including government officials, students from technical
colleges and employers of labor.
Also featured was a press conference held by the
organizers and partners. This was directed towards
informing the general public about the importance
of skills in curbing youth unemployment and driving
economic growth.
The event rounded up with an awards ceremony
which is known as the iCreate Skills Awards to honor
