experience (before, during
event and after).
My name is Faiza Usman
Adam. Am a make-up artist
and also an entrepreneur
who is trying to make a
name for herself. Before
coming to ICREATE AFRICA,
I was always a reserved
person
who
couldn’t
express herself. I had
interest in the beauty
industry but always felt I
was failing.
Then fortunately, I stumbled
on iCreate advertisement. I
was wowed and thought
to have found the right
opportunity to show myself
to the world and also break
that barrier I have around
me. But I was so having
doubts whether to register
and attend. I prayed and
thought a lot. I finally
competed and won. I would
say this everywhere: it was
an amazing experience
to be part of an amazing
competition
and
the
challenges are the best
part of it. To try something
new and improve yourself
is the most fabulous
achievement.
After ICreate Skill Fest,
I wrote a bucket list for
myself to try new things and
network. I was some sort
of celebrity. I was invited
for a panelist session at
a summit. Presently I am
doing a lot of research,
networking and training.
Alhamdulillah I am trying to
build up my studio ending
this year.
What is the advice you have
for youth who consider a
career in Make-Up Art?
The advice to my fellow
makeup artists and young
ladies
and
gentlemen
out there is, no matter
how insecure you feel,
make sure you have that
determination to break
out and be your amazing
self. Follow your heart and
follow your dreams. Be
strong for yourself because
there are challenges out
there that are going to
discourage you. Fight it and
be who you want to be.
Pray hard, because there
is nothing out that GOD
cannot solve.
Lastly,
be
passionate,
determined and strive to
make it work.
Where do you want to be in
5 years from now and how
do you aim to achieve this?
It might sounds crazy,
but I know I can be the
best make-up artist in
Nigeria and also make it
internationally. I have seen
magic happen within just
6 months if given the right
support. I have big dreams
and I thank the iCreate
family so much for this
great opportunity.
