KHARE Talks about his current projects SINGLES, ONE HOLY” a “LET US GO” Seneca: We’re 2016. What are we going to expect from you this year? Seneca: Did you know that you were going to be a singer? Is that what you ... That’s what you knew? Khare Hawkins: The single One Holy ... It was the lead single to the album that was released. It was my personal testimony that the Lord is forever the same through ... no matter what the trial or situation. Anything that you go through. The Lord is standing right there being forever the same. Khare Hawkins: I’ll be one-hundred percent honest with you. No. I don’t have the typical story like, “I’ve been singing since age three.” No, that wasn’t me. Although I grew up in the church and I was singing all of my life, it was never a personal desire of mine to be in the forefront. I was perfectly fine being in the background, just kind of relaxing, being a background singer, being a part of a choir. Not even singing. Just doing administrating and styling and different things in the background. This year, I’m just still kind of promoting that. Man, it took a lot out of me recording a record. It’s a lot, being an independent artist, but with God’s grace and God’s favor I’m going back into the studio to start working on my sophomore album. The thing about it is, is when God says, “It’s time,” I’d rather obey the voice of God than tell God, “No.” The one person you don’t want to tell, “No.” That’s kind of what happened to me. I didn’t see it coming. Neither did anybody else. When I came on, they were like, “Wait a minute. You sing?” That’s the reaction I got. Now like, “Oh, we’ve been waiting on this.” From like, “Wait a minute. I didn’t even know he sang.” It’s one of those things where the Lord said, “The time is now.” My answer to the Lord was and always be, “Yes.” That’s kind of how it happened for me. Seneca: You must be in shape, because I saw him perform. That’s like, hard. Dr. Ricky Dillard. He performed one time. I saw his concert one time. How he had the choir all on cue and dancing and rolling on the floor. I just didn’t know what to say. How do you do it? Khare Hawkins: I’ve learned so much from him. That’s my founder and always will be. He has taught me so much. I’ve been privileged to have so many inspirations and people that are flowing into my ministry. “ONE HOLY” GETS ME INTO GOD’S PRESENCE INSTANTLY!” -EARNEST PUGH 20 PAGE | ICONIC
