Ronica Bowers grew up in Mooresville, NC in a home saturated by music. As the youngest daughter of gospel legend Robert Bowers and Sadie Bowers, he branded her as a songstress and from that, her path was set. She attributes her hearty vocal talent to her father, a member of The Spiritual Soul Seekers of Cleveland, NC.

At 19 years of age, Ronica rose as the star vocalist for the gospel group formerly known as The Mighty Blazing Stars. Their album “Lord It’s In Your Hands” featured Ronica as lead singer on this title track and still thrives as one of their most notable hits. The overwhelming response to the song afforded them opportunities to travel nationally. Through numerous tours and performances, they were fortunate to share the stage with iconic gospel artists like The Canton Spirituals, Lee Williams and Shirley Caesar, to name a few.

After years of grooming her talent under her father’s leadership, Ronica decided to take a break from music and focus on other priorities she had. Her sabbatical allowed her to spend time with family and focus on her business. She was also able to support her son as he began his music career. One of Ronica’s dearest passions was to own a daycare. She has successfully reached that goal and is the proud owner of three childcare facilities. Being around children and seeing first-hand their various struggles, her heart compelled her to capture them at a young age and impact positive change in their lives. She has done just that and is excited to see their continued progress.

Despite changes within her family, Ronica decided it was time to pick up her birthright and continue her musical journey. Ronica relaunched her gospel music career in 2014 with a new record label in Moda’ Records. Her first cd under the new umbrella included her son, artist Tony Lelo, brother Roderick Bowers, cousins Craig Johnson, Dennis Steele, Jr. and Dezmond Sherrill. They are fondly known as Ronica Bowers and NuSeason.

The quartet world is poised and excited about the album “New Beginnings” set to be released in the fall of 2015. The album’s first single entitled “Heaven is My Home” speaks of the divine journey of the saints. When asked about this single, Ronica’s reply is an admonition to us all; “Prepare yourself for heaven so all your work won’t be in vain”. This album will reflect a spiritual yet unique musical blend of traditional quartet, contemporary gospel and a dash of country. While her roots attracted an older audience, Ronica is set to embrace a younger generation as well.

We know that anointing comes without repentance and our gifts will make room for us. Ronica is zealous about Jesus Christ and charged to be a great vessel in the kingdom through her music ministry. She proudly proclaims that “Jesus is the answer. If it wasn’t for Him, I don’t know what I would have done. God carried me through”.
