Well , it ’ s here . 2017 came roaring in like a lion to the delight of many . Whether you love a new year or just feel undue pressure to better yourself because the calendar says so , there is something pretty enticing about turning over a new chapter in time . Who knows what life will bring ? In that spirit , Iconic Magazine is embracing a new look , new features and sections and an overall makeover to make your reading experience just a little more fun . Given that the majority of this magazine has been put together in between mother ’ s-day-out sessions , dinner-time , bath-time and thoughts about going to the gym , it ’ s been a labor of love , to say the least . And I couldn ’ t be more excited to finally share it with you ! First of all , an explanation . The new magazine is broken down into sections that semi-reflect the life we live in Christ . New , now , next . Because we are new creations , we live expectantly in the now-the present-with an eye to the future ; to what ’ s next . Here , New revolves around news , social media updates , new music you need to know and anything else on the forefront of the industry . Now refers to the main feature section . Who or what is happening right now ? This time around , Danny Gokey was an obvious pick for the release of his first studio album since his meteoric song , “ Hope In Front of Me ,” blasted him to the top of the charts . His latest album reflects a man who has turned a new page in his life and is charging ahead with vibrance , energy and passion that is utterly contagious . Finally , Next may very well be the most important section of the entire magazine . This is where we shine a spotlight on up-and-coming artists who are bound to become the next big thing in music and / or ministry . Rounding that out is our listing of hot upcoming releases you don ’ t want to miss . In the sidelines , there will also be a regular section called “ Creatives
,
on Call .” This is a section where we highlight the philanthropic , charitable or mission-oriented work of someone in or around the music industry . There ’ s so much more between these pages than I can share here , so all I have left to say is to have fun exploring . Enjoy what you find and happy new , now and next to you !
