De’ Angelo began singing\r\nin church at the tender age of five with the ability to lead songs that were before his time.\r\nIt was at that time where the connection of God, Christian Music, and the heart for ministry\r\nwas birthed inside of him.\r\nDe’ Angelo was classically trained in high school, and that training opened up the door for\r\nhim to receive a full vocal scholarship to the historic Alabama A&M University in Huntsville,\r\nAL. He did however, graduate from the Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. Through his\r\nmatriculation, De’ Angelo became absorbed in the technicality, science, and art of music.\r\nDe’ Angelo served as a member of J.T. & Rebirth for over ten years and was a son of the\r\nfounder, Julius Collins, III. Serving as the business manager for the group not only helped develop\r\nhis singing abilities, but also built character, developed leadership skills, and strengthened\r\nthe heart for ministry. After the sudden passing of Julius Collins, III, De’ Angelo succeeded\r\nhim and became the leader/visionary of Rebirth. Serving faithfully to J. T. & Rebirth\r\nopened the door for God to take De’ Angelo to next level in ministry.\r\nDuring his ministry, De’ Angelo has sung background for many groups and has worked\r\non countless projects. He has had the esteemed pleasure however, r open up for national\r\nrecording artists such as: Pastor Kim Burrell, Karen Clark-Sheard, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Minister\r\nJonathan Nelson, and Pastor Donnie McClurkin. De ‘Angelo is a member of The Equation\r\nChurch where the Bishop Antwain Jackson serves as Pastor. De ‘Angelo has served as a worship\r\nleader at his church, but after being released by his Pastor to start his career as a solo\r\nartist, De ‘Angelo began the process of composing his first album, “Think Music”. The album\r\nwill be released Late 2013. In February 2013, the single entitled “WINNER” was released.\r\nAfter faithfully serving others and being diligent in the affairs of others, God has now\r\nallowed De’ Angelo to reap the harvest that was sown in years past. De’ Angelo Marquis is a\r\nworshipper, psalmist, and minister who God has called for in this season to use music as a\r\nlanguage to motivate and inspire people of different backgrounds and faiths together as one\r\nto bring glory and honor to our savior, Jesus Christ.\r\nsmooth skin that so very often someone pinches.\r\nD Marquis\r\nStellar Award winners and Grammy Award nominees,\r\n21:03 (Evin Martin, Torrence Greene and\r\nJor’el Quinn) has grown up right before our eyes.\r\nNew York, New York – August 19, 2011 – Stellar Award winners\r\nand Grammy Award nominees, 21:03 (Evin Martin, Torrence Greene\r\nand Jor’el Quinn) has grown up right before our eyes. The maturity\r\nthat comes from experiencing the ups and downs of life is heard\r\nthroughout their third CD, EVOLVED…From Boys to Men, being\r\nreleased September 6, 2011.\r\nThe first single, “Still Here,” was written by Evin Martin after losing\r\nboth of his parents in a very short span of time. Almost two years\r\nago, his mother died of multiple sclerosis complications at the age\r\nof 48. Then, his 50 year-old father died. “I was depressed and went\r\nthrough a period of having panic attacks - waking up out of my\r\nsleep because I didn’t know whether I was going to be next to die,”\r\nsays Martin.\r\nThe support of 21:03 and PAJAM helped him through the rough\r\nperiod, and a sermon at Straight Gate Church in Detroit inspired\r\n“Still Here.” Martin says, “Bishop Andrew Merritt was preaching\r\nabout The Blood, and said the same power that conquered\r\nthe grave lives on the inside of me, so I don’t have to fear death\r\nbecause the blood already covers that. I’m still here because the\r\nblood still has its power.”\r\n21:03\r\n21:03\r\nWith an old school groove and stunning\r\nvocals, “Still Here” is currently\r\nTop-25 and continues to climb at\r\nGospel Radio. Saunders aka DJ Reflectshun\r\nSince I’m from Louisiana, I’m bias right off the back. Gifted Da Flamethrowa didn’t come up short on\r\nthe beat. He keeps the signature sound of Louisiana bounce music which we’re famous for. Straightaway,\r\nI’m head sprung. The beat gives off a strong inner feeling or notion something is about to go\r\ndown and it’s not nice. Gifted killed this track. I would assume that even an un-mastered version of this\r\nsong would still be off the chain. He has definitely traded in his hood-dealings for hope-dealer status.\r\nNow, when I saw the video for ‘Bulldoze City,’ it displays various angles featuring Gifted. He’s moving\r\nhis arms, legs, head, and body within the video. To everyone else, it may seem boring and shows lack of\r\ncreativity. However, boy oh boy! I don’t care about the lack of movement his lyrics are like Coke Classic.\r\nSome things you just shouldn’t tamper with. He’s perfect just the way he is!\r\nGifted Da Flamethrowa has been around for a minute. He’s a “soldier and a classic!” If music had an\r\nodor, ‘Bulldoze City’ would be unbearably funky. The force is with Gifted Da Flamethrowa but it’s not\r\nsome unexplained fictional power. The force I’m speaking of is the Holy Spirit and he’s showcasing it\r\nlike spiritual armor. When speaking to Gifted, he stated, “Bulldoze City is a state of mind. In this season\r\nwe need to bulldoze any thing that gets in the way of our mission for God. The song is meant to be a\r\nsoundtrack for that attitude.”\r\n‘Bulldoze City’ is delivering lyrics of no tolerance. Anything that gets in the way of his mission will not\r\nbe tolerated. God aka Coach, has called Gifted Da Flamethrowa to be an ‘altar boy’ so he can change a\r\nfew things. Gifted is definitely doing what needs to be done to get his name into the Book of Life. Some\r\nsongs have too many scripture references and some not enough. I never thought about the talent it\r\nwould take to create such a balance. Even though I’ve heard songs with more scriptural references,\r\nGifted told me, “My way of writing is to make sure my music is not so “street” to where I lose the church\r\nand not so “church” to where I lose the streets. I keep my message in that format.” Because of this format,\r\nI believe this makes his music more relatable on all levels from the boardroom, the church pew, and to\r\nthe corner.\r\nThere’s no denying the vocals. Gifted Da Flamethrowa is from New Orleans. However, this is not a\r\ndown side. His Big Easy way of speaking that’s ingrained in his vocals increases the level of attention\r\nfrom his listeners. The lyrics, the vocals, and the beat keep me pressing replay. I’m actually home sick\r\nbecause I’ve listened too much.\r\nNow, I couldn’t write this review and forget the beat. So, I have to say the beat is ‘off top.’ Or, as my\r\nboy Corey Hicks would say, “Whaaaaaaaaaaaa!” The beat sounds like an announcement is being made\r\nand its saying, get out the way or else. It’s almost like God gave Gifted permission to cut loose. He’s feeling\r\ngood and he’s got the “whole globe bouncing.” Gifted Da Flamethrowa is truly Gifted and talented.\r\nI would absolutely recommend the purchase of his current works, ‘Bulldoze City’ and all his past works\r\ntoo. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.\r\nI’m currently a Freelance Writer for www.faithwriters.com, www.style31mag.com, http://www.\r\ngodzgurlz.com, http://iconlimitless.com, and The Fruit of Her Hands on Facebook https://www.facebook.\r\ncom/TaraSaundersProverbs3131/info\r\nContact Tara\r\nhttps://www.facebook.com/tara.crockettsaunders\r\nhttps://www.facebook.com/TaraSaundersProverbs3131/info\r\nhttps://twitter.com/TaraLSaunders\r\nEmail: [email protected]\r\n26ICONIC MAGAZINE 27\r\nIn 2009, Soul Hustle released their debut album, “The Influence”,\r\nwith their hit single “J’z up” staying number 1 on the 1240 Rejoice\r\nshow for over 3 months. Most\r\nrecently, he performed with BloodTypeG and iPRAISEM at Spirit\r\nWest Coast, an annual Christian music festival with thousands\r\nin attendance.\r\nUp next for the passionate rapper is a free mixtape, featuring\r\na track with Eshon Burgundy, as well as songs “Die in Faith,” “10\r\n& 2,” and “The Gospel.” Though catchy and upbeat, Jamaal’s music\r\npresents many theological truths. For instance, “Die in Faith,”\r\nis about how Jesus willingly and faithfully went to the cross for\r\nus, essentially dying in faith. “A lot of people are dying in sin and\r\nare content with that),” Jamaal explains. “The hope is for people\r\nnot to be content in dying in sin but to trust in Jesus Christ for\r\nthe removal of that sin so that they can die in faith and live with\r\nChrist forever.”\r\nAs always, in every endeavor he undertakes, it’s Jamaal’s ultimate\r\ndesire to glorify God, hate sin and love Jesus.\r\nAfter singing in local\r\ngroups, numerous stage\r\nplays, and staying in the\r\nbackground, he decided\r\nit was time to take a leap\r\nof faith and pursue a solo\r\nmusic career. In 2011, TBII\r\nsigned with the independent\r\nrecord label, New\r\nYork Connect Entertainment\r\nled by CEO Mr. Will\r\nYoung, who is aiming to\r\ntake his music to another\r\nlevel. TBII released his first\r\nsingle entitled “More” on\r\nJune 24th, 2011. “More”\r\nmeans a lot to me, because\r\nthe song really expresses\r\nmy true emotion towards\r\nGod and after I lost my\r\nmother, I needed that void to be filled.\r\nI was in the studio really crying out to\r\nGod and HE blessed me with a song\r\nthat really showcases my desire for\r\nHim!” More was released with very\r\npositive reviews and has gained continuous\r\nairplay in several states. He\r\nis also currently in the studio working\r\non his debut album entitled “The\r\nSoul Experience” due for release May\r\n14, 2013. “It’s time to return to true\r\nsoulful music and God has placed\r\nme here to do so.” With God leading\r\nhim, this young man’s future looks\r\nvery promising. On Valentine’s Day\r\n2012, his new single “The Definition\r\nof Love”, produced by the awesome\r\nproducer known as Jay Wash, owner\r\nof J Wash Music Group, was released\r\neverywhere online to strong reviews.\r\nTBII has performed in concert\r\nwith National Recording artist\r\nEvangelist Faye Mosby, has\r\nbeen on tour with The BAD\r\nConference for LRB Ministries\r\nunder the leadership of\r\nProphetess Lutricia Roberts,\r\nbut one of the most memorable\r\nmoments came on August\r\n5, 2012 when he was giving a\r\nchance to perform his single\r\n“The Definition of Love” at the\r\nMissouri Black Expo in front\r\nof a major audience.
