BRIDGE FOUNDATION R2R GREEN SPACE PROGRAMME promotes environmental literacy,
knowledge, environmental awareness and action ONE School, ONE Classroom,
ONE Community at a time.
R2R Green Space is an innovative and local environmental literacy and advocacy programme im-
plemented in the schools for students and their parents to increase their environmental awareness,
knowledge of their community and their contribution to improving their environment where they live.
Students participate in
•child-friendly environmental reading and become more aware about their
environment while improving their literacy skills.
• knowledge building and action activities through being exposed to hands on practical
activities, being part of demonstrations, and implementing environmental actions projects
at school/home and community with support of their parents.
•creative art and writing stories while working as creative inspirational storytellers with
UWI-DCFA students to create R2R Green Space environmental children books.
THE DEPARTMENT OF CREATIVE AND FESTIVAL ARTS (DCFA) is a Department in the Faculty
of Humanities and Education, The University of the West Indies, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago.
The department offers courses and a place to explore the cultural expressions of Trinidad and Tobago
and, by extension, the Caribbean through instruction in the creative arts at the highest level of
academic, professional and technical accreditation available at, or through, The University of the
West Indies.
