Creation Hope Webinar
On 2 November Preach held its first webinar on the topic of Creation Hope to coincide with day three of COP26 .
The aim was to gather together to look at two things : what God ’ s Word is on creation care and what He is calling us to do ; i . e . the theology of biodiversity conservation !
Held in light of our hopes for the decisions being made at the UN climate change conference , it was thrilling to have four key speakers delivering wisdom and insight . We also had time for audience questions and interaction .
Our panellists were :
Dave Bookless , Director of Theology at A Rocha International and co-founder of A Rocha UK , who spoke about preaching on creation care and highlighted 3 key areas : Jesus , justice , and nature .
Caroline Pomeroy , Director of Climate Stewards , who joined LIVE from COP26 to give clarity on what ’ s happening and the issues at stake . She recognised the huge amount of hope , but also the gap between the pledges made and the reality of implemention .
Helen Stephens , Church Relations Manager at A Rocha UK , explained the five key areas in becoming an Eco Church .
Polly Eaton , Administrator at High Street Baptist Church in Tring , which recently became a Gold Award Eco Church , gave additional insight .
The conclusion was that all our small actions together add to a significant collective impact . Keep going !

In our current issue
In our Winter ’ 21 issue of Preach magazine we ’ ll be inviting preachers and practitioners of the faith to think about Preaching on the Old Testament , asking slightly tongue-incheek questions such as : What good is the Old Testament today ? What did Jesus think of the Old Testament ? What ’ s the point of Leviticus ?
Contributors include : Krish Kandiah , Laura Gallacher , James Catford , Jo Swinney , Ian Paul , Tobi Olujinmi , and Helen Paynter .
