Training at Cornhill :
Thank you so much for your generous support . I am really grateful , because your support has enabled me , over the last year , to complete my second year of training at the Cornhill training course .
At Cornhill we were taught in lectures about biblical books , preached ourselves through parts of Isaiah , Samuel , Exodus and Ecclesiastes and had the opportunity to start learning New Testament Greek .
This training was instrumental in helping me to understand Bible books as a whole and to read them well in context . I am more confident than ever to be able to read God ’ s Word faithfully and teach it engagingly .
I am excited to keep listening attentively to our great God and Saviour for the rest of my life and to teach his ways to his people .
Working in the local church :
In my local church , I had the opportunity to put what I have learned at Cornhill into practice by teaching God ’ s people his Word . In small group Bible studies and at times by preaching I used the skills I had learned . In our small groups we studied the Gospel of Matthew for the entire year .
Having learned to carefully read and structure books , I was able to teach the group with more clarity . Everyone enjoyed and appreciated the Gospel of Matthew in a completely new way . Most importantly , we came to realise afresh the sonship of Jesus and His perfect obedience to the Father .

I also served practically in my local church by helping to organise church weekends away . On these weekends away we had a wonderful time together as a church family and were able to enjoy each other ’ s company far away from the stresses of normal life .
Moreover , we also had extra time to listen to preaching from God ’ s Word . We studied , amongst others , how to relate to each other in the church in light of Jesus ’ commands in Matthew 18 and how to live in light of our certain resurrection from 1 Corinthians 15 .
Both weekends provided much food for thought , refreshed us as a church family together and helped me personally to always give myself fully to the work of the Lord , because I can know that my “ labour in the Lord is not in vain ” ( 1 Cor 15:58 ).
Yours in Christ , Ralf & Marie-Christine Wenz
