We Welcome our New Editor and Content Manager
We are delighted to announce that Emma Beaney has been appointed as the new Editor Emma Beaney and Content Manager for LWPT . Emma lives in Milton Keynes with her husband and has two children studying at university . She comes to us with a background in writing , design , communication and management . Her experience includes leadership roles in commercial organisations and church denominations and she is currently an elder at Newport Pagnell Baptist church . Emma adds ,
“ Serving across denominations has shaped my love for the breadth of God ’ s church . It has also highlighted the ongoing necessity to resource , strengthen and journey with leaders , and support those called to ministry . I ’ m eager to continue the great work of LWPT and look forward to shaping content , working with contributors , and discovering new and emerging voices . I ’ m grateful to be entrusted with this responsibility and look forward to being part of the team and engaging with you throughout 2023 .”

For summer 2023 , Preach tackles the growing issue of Poverty . Regular columnists look at what God says about poverty ( and equality , justice , compassion and love ) and consider what the Bible can show us about tackling today ’ s poverty - mainly in a UK context . Contributors include Tobi Olujinmi , Helen Paynter ( Preaching the OT ), Ian Paul ( Word of God ), James Catford ( Public Square ), Dave Bookless ( Creation Care ) and Krish Kandiah ( Books for Life ). Artist Jenny Hawke contributes an image for reflection - Painting the Word .
LWPT Launches Two New Funds to Help Preachers
LWPT has long-since been an ecumenical charity , providing support to preachers and student preachers of all denominations and churches . To underline our universal intention and reach out to and resonate with key Christian groups we ’ ve set up two new funds . The Cranmer Training Fund will provide help for Anglican students and the John Wesley Training Fund is for those training in Methodist ministry . The total that we ’ re making available for student grants is £ 55,000 . To help raise this money we ’ ve recently sent out appeals to churches of both denominations .
