FAST FIVE WITH...Louisa Lockwood, Preach Magazine
Louisa Lockwood is the Editor of the
LWPT produced resource Preach
magazine. We caught up with her
and asked her a quickfire round of
questions. Read what Louisa had to
say...
What does a typical day look like for you
and what are you currently working on?
I feel blessed to have a lot of variety in my
daily life as I crossover between editorial
work, voluntary commitments, running a
household, and managing the requirements
of three teenagers and a dog. Today I am working on the page proofs of Preach
issue 18 – The Political Issue – with some big last-minute revisions to make
sure it’s as interesting and relevant as possible for the readers! I’m speaking
to someone at Tearfund this afternoon about Justice, which may be a future
theme for Preach.
What three words would you use to describe your role?
Stimulating, fun, and rewarding.
What do you like most about your job?
The most incredible people that I work with – from my colleagues to the
contributors to the people who submit their sermons for Sermon of the Year.
There is a huge amount of goodwill and positivity around the work we try to do
to support preachers and preaching.
What is something you learned in the last week?
That Preach magazine is five this year! And, given the subject of politics, when
watching our politicians voting on Theresa May’s Brexit deal on Tuesday 15
January, I was struck by the diversity they already represent in parliament.
If you could interview one person (dead or alive) who would it be?
Queen Elizabeth 1 as I’d love to talk to her about her faith and politics, with her
in the present so she could understand the long-reaching impact her decisions
have had on the UK. ■
