Using Ericsson’ s new ITM algorithm in the head end encoders, means HDR service providers have full control over displaying both SDR and HDR. This approach empowers services providers rather than relying on TV vendors and is less disruptive than having to deploy a completely new generation of third party set top boxes. This new solution enables a guaranteed enriched and immersive HDR visual experience that is compelling for the viewer.
Espial – Stand 1. F89 The viewing experience transformation specialist will introduce its Elevate cloud-based software as a service( SaaS) video platform to the European market at IBC2017. ETL Systems – Stand 1. A33 The global designer and manufacturer of RF signal distribution equipment for satellite communications, will be launching a VSAT RF over Fibre solution at IBC. VSAT Fibre provides fibre connectivity between a VSAT antenna and a remote-control room.
“ VSAT systems are extremely invaluable where the coverage area is large, quick installation is required, or where terrestrial alternatives are difficult to organise,” commented Andrew Bond, sales and marketing director, ETL Systems.“ However, quite often they suffer with signal loss between the antenna and the control room. This system will have a huge impact on the quality of the feed, whether it is for outside broadcast, air traffic control, military operations, or any other number of VSAT applications.”
Evertz – Stand 1. D31 The media and entertainment technology solutions provider will be demonstrating its latest advancements in Software Defined Video Networking( SDVN), Virtualisation, Live Media Production, Big Data Analytics, Cloud-Based Playout, UHD / HDR technologies, Compression, RF, and Remote Production.
“ With our growing installed base of our Software Defined Video Networking( SDVN) solutions, we are at the forefront of the IP transition that is occurring in the industry. At this year’ s IBC, our focus will be on the key IP-based technologies from live production to cloud-based playout. We will also demonstrate our commitment to emerging standards that include SMPTE ST 2110 and AMWA IS-04 and IS-05,” said Romolo Magarelli, chief executive officer and president of Evertz Technologies Limited.“ We continue to help our customers develop new highly-efficient operational workflows that leverage new advanced IP-based solutions that meet their business challenges.”
GeoGuard – Stand 14. M23 Making its IBC debut, the geo-data verification solutions and services provider will be demonstrating why Geo-Piracy should be taken more seriously by the content industry. GeoGuard will showcase how its advanced solutions prevent consumers utilising easily available Geo-Piracy tools to gain illicit access to content services outside of their geographical location.
“ It’ s our belief that just as a chain is only as secure as its weakest link, a content service is only as secure as the simplest attack that succeeds,” remarked David Briggs, co-founder and chairman of GeoGuard states.“ Now that the industry is engaging directly to counter the effects of Kodi, it’ s necessary to also start addressing more of the even easier forms of piracy used to access OTT content illicitly, such as virtual private networks( VPNs), domain name server( DNS) proxies and other specialist methods of attack. This is why we are exhibiting at IBC this year, so that we can demonstrate to content owners and distributors that we now have a powerful and accurate solution to protect against Geo- Piracy.”
“ I am delighted that 30 high profile content creators and entertainment companies – including Disney, Amazon, HBO and Netflix – recently came together to launch the Alliance for Creativity and Entertainment anti-piracy coalition. This shows that the leading content owners and OTT providers not only understand the scale of the piracy issue, but also realise that the only realistic way to defeat piracy is through close collaboration,” added Briggs.“ We believe it’ s critical that the content industry goes one step further by working with companies like GeoGuard to make sure that every new leak is sealed as soon as it’ s identified as a potential threat – this means we hit pirates where it hurts most, their cash-flow. We look forward to meeting content owners and potential customers and partners at IBC and showing that Geo-Piracy is a multi-billiondollar issue that now needs to be addressed.”
