IBA SUCCESS MAGAZINE Volume 2 Issue 5 | Page 4

WELCOME Welcome to the latest issue of IBA Success Magazine! This issue means a lot to me for so many reasons, for starters, I’m literally living a dream. Two years ago, I envisioned a full color, high quality publication that would empower, educate and promote entrepreneurs world-wide. Today, IBA Success Magazine has become a nationally distributed publication on which entrepreneurs can depend to help ignite and expand their businesses. We are approaching our 3rd year and the growth is mind-blowing. This issue hits closer to home than I ever thought it would. While it continues to be filled with our helpful business strategies, it also contains some personal truths from my own life that I hope will help you with yours. As a child who grew up in a household where domestic violence was prevalent, I aim to always honor survivors. There is no better time than now to provide my readers information and education about the vicious cycle of Domestic Violence. We sometimes allow the media to distract us from how important it is to demand respect. And as individuals we diminish self-worth by accepting behaviors that are not healthy for us, so I hope you enjoy, “What’s Love Gotta Do with It”, by Alexia Written. After I read it, I realized this was a topic that must be shared. Just recently, I lost a family member to Lung Cancer. Through the loss, I realized that when Cancer appears, everything else stops. It’s a killer of souls and dreams. I also realized that with proper checkups and awareness, survivors are created. My goal with creating the Wellness section (Page 9), sponsored by Fulmore Chiropractic, is to open a dialogue within your family to create wellness plans that shed light on the importance of self-care. I dedicate the Wellness section to my loving cousin, who died from Lung Cancer on September 4, 2016. Johnnita Catten was a warrior who fought until the bitter end and I will forever admire her strength. To her daughter Breanna, we embrace you and will be the support necessary for your inner light brilliantly to shine. While the beasts we fight come in many shapes and sizes, the struggle remains the same. I believe that we all desire to live a happier, healthier and more resilient life, but what we all could use is more education and resources to lead us in the direction of healthy success. Jump right in and indulge yourself on the tips that will create a healthier you. As you scroll through each new customized industry section, think of what you would like to see in our next issue.
