professional with the will to give back to the community
that has given so much to many of us.
Pernell Bush, MSW, Board Member and Director of
Ambassador Program, said, “I believe the Ambassador
program allows individuals an opportunity to give back in
a unique and fun way. While building their network with
a variety of professionals who are leaders in their career
industries. I look forward to working with the 2017-2018
Ambassador members.”
The New Markets Launch of Guys with Ties in a Box:
Given the success Guys with Ties has had in Central
Florida, the Board opted to empower business leaders
in other communities to lead a Guys with Ties in their
local market! Being passionate about numerous charities
and causes is a great thing, but it can place high and
unsustainable demand on the busy professional to have
the level of impact they desire on each one. Guys with
Ties allows these professionals to invest their time and
financial resources to one organization that vets and
supports numerous causes and charities each year!
Dr. Rollan Roberts, GWT Board Member over New
Markets, said, “Guys with Ties has an incredible brand
and track record raising hundreds of thousands of dollars
for numerous charities for over a decade. This success is
worthy of being duplicated all over the country. I know
there are other professionals that see what I see and want
to bring Guys with Ties platform and infrastructure to have
fun and raise funds to make a huge difference in their local
community.”
The Guys with Ties Corporate Giving Package:
Guys with Ties excels at engaging the community within
the Greater Orlando Area. With every signature event we
see our audience grow, our exposure expand and, most
importantly, the lives we impact flourish! The creation
of the Community Engagement position is nothing more
than the realization of local businesses and entities
getting involved, their donations stretching and affecting
more lives. The ideal situation is to increase giving
while gaining exposure through many different outlets
and audiences. Guys with Ties has the template and
connections already in place to allow a business owner
to get involved with many different charities, while only
having to maintain one ongoing relationship.
Nick McCarthy, Director of Community Engagement, who
is on the board of directors advised, “The trouble for many
business owners isn’t the idea that they want to give, it’s
to whom to give, how to vet the charity out, and what kind
of exposure and involvement are they getting?”
To remedy this, Guys with Ties is creating an Annual
Corporate Sponsorship package that will take care of all
of these concerns; one donation offers exposure not only
to all of our Signature events, but to all of the Signature
events of the charities we are highlighting! We have four
events a year, meaning Annual Corporate Sponsors will be
a part of eight Signature events throughout the year with
only one donation! For example, Guys with Ties passes
the funds raised at the Signature Events to the Charity
honored, in addition, giving exposure to the Charity’s
Signature event, as sponsors!
“What we are doing with the Annual Corporate Sponsorship
is extremely exciting! As we grow and impact lives, so will
our Signature Events… and of course, we will all have a lot of
fun!’ Nick McCarthy
The Emergence of Their Feet is the Streets program:
The organization has varied in the way that it volunteers in
the community over the years. Guys with Ties is very well
known for throwing large fun events and writing checks to
benefit great causes, but they also give back in other ways.
As part of solidifying a lasting culture of giving, the board
has made volunteering a cornerstone of their annual event
calendar. Events in this program have been dubbed as “Feet
is the Streets” activities.
Ryan Rapolti, Vice President of the board shared his beliefs:
“Volunteering time may be the most fundamental way for
a person to give back to their community. Being present
to witness and make an impact first hand is an invaluable
experience. We want this to be a core part of what we do as
an organization. Beyond writing checks, we actually want to
be there for our community.”
In the last several months, members of the Organization
have selflessly given time and service with Ronald McDonald
House, Habitat for Humanity, Special Olympics of Florida,
New Image Youth Center and more.
