Give your industry a voice , ABA memberships due now
MEMBERSHIPS to the Almond Board of Australia are now due . For the first time we have aligned our call for memberships with the crop year ( March 1 , 2024 to February 28 , 2025 ). As harvest hits top gear , so does the myriad of activities planned for the year by the ABA staff . There are a range of benefits that come from signing up as a member including discount rates for the biennial Almond Conference , which is in Adelaide this year from October 2-4 . While levies collected underpin research and development as well as our highly successful marketing program , memberships are used to resource key activities like advocating on behalf of industry on issues like beehive movements , water availability and defending growers ’ social license to grow . Never before has it been as important to advocate , educate and facilitate on a wide range of issues on behalf of members . Dealing with supply chain stakeholders including politicians , bureaucrats , public servants , other peak industry bodies , retailers , manufacturers and the public , takes time and requires significant resources . The ABA can proudly claim to have tackled issues with a united voice over many years and
memberships are an integral funding source for this work . By signing up you are also eligible for a range of formal roles and responsibilities within the ABA , including :
• The ability to be nominated to the ABA board of directors .
• Sit on one of ABA sub committees : - Water - Pollination - Sustainability - Production - Processing - Plant Improvement - Chemicals - Market Development - Almond Centre of Excellence ( ACE )
• Special invitations to industry events and meetings .
