3GF CONFERENCE SHOWCASED BACHELET’S
CONFIDENCE IN A GREEN FUTURE

PRESIDENT MICHELLE BACHELET TALKED POSITIVELY ABOUT THE PROGRESS OF GREEN GROWTH IN
CHILE, DESPITE CLIMATE CHANGE HAVING DRAMATICALLY AFFECTED THE COUNTRY IN RECENT MONTHS.
SANTIAGO —June 18 at the Marriott Hotel in Las
Condes, Michelle Bachelet along with the Environment
Minister Pablo Badenier, participated in the opening
ceremony of the Regional Global Green Growth Forum
(3GF) Conference in Latin America and the Caribbean.
The Latin America and the Caribbean 3GF Conference
provided an opportunity for the Chilean President to
express her environmental aims. Bachelet said, “We are
committed to reducing our greenhouse gas emissions
between 35 percent and 45 percent by 2030.” Chile
only generates 0.3 percent of all global greenhouse gas
emissions.
