I DO GHANA BRIDAL WINTER 2018 | Page 16

Darryl& S tacy love at the right time || photography by mofliks we’ve always known each other, having grown up in the Ghanaian community in Rhode Island; yet we never really meshed with each other. he is older than i am so we did not run in the same circle of friends. (Side note: when my mother was pregnant with me, they said Darryl used to be so attached to my mom; they called him her little boy friend.) First time I saw him, i thought he was handsome, it was at a mutual friend’s birthday party. We said hi for the first time. he called me by my older sister’s name as most people do. I corrected him and said; Stacy... he went on to wipe sweat off my forehead and said “gee you’re sweating”. After that party, I tried to look him up on Facebook but he did not have social media.
