You will need: 200g of mock beef/setian, or 60g TVP cutlets or 200-300g of extra firm tofu – sliced 5cm piece of ginger – grated 2 cloves of garlic minced ¼ cup vegetable stock 4 tsp of thick mushroom sauce 4 T of soy sauce 1 tsp of sweet soy sauce (kecap manis) ½ tsp sesame oil 2 T of brown sugar 2 tsp of corn flour Additional oil and corn flour for frying “meat” Method: 1. Toss your rehydrated TVP , mock beef/setian or tofu in corn flour, then shallow fry in oil till crispy. I use coconut because its super healthy. Put your “meat” aside. 2. Gently fry ginger and garlic till fragrant. 3. Combine corn flour, and remaining sauce ingredients. 4. Add the sauce mixture, heat till sauce boils and thickens. 5. Add your ”meat” back in, and toss till “meat” is coated in the sauce. 6. Serve over rice or noodles. Originally a non vegan recipe from Rasa Malaysia: http://rasamalaysia.com/mongolian-beef-recipe/
