If they would allow people to queue outside of Jamie's new Italian the queues for Banksy's exhibition would possibly have seemed like a 5 minute wait at the petrol station!

The latest branch of Jamie's Italian restaurants collection occupies three floors of the former Blackwell's bookshop at the top of Park Street. Entering the Georgian building through the corner entrance and there is a bar area where you can enjoy a glass of Prosecco from the all-Italian wine list. On the lower ground floor there is an antipasti counter with a row of hams and cured meats hanging from hooks.

Up the metal staircase and the main dining area is overlooked by the partially open kitchen which is surrounded by a fresh fish and shellfish counter, strings of garlic and vines of cherry tomatoes beneath a chipped and faded 'foreign department' sign, a reminder of the building's former use.
