On the day before New years Eve I wanted a nice big lunch without having to cook or wask up! Just 5 minutes off the ring road at Nibley, the Swan is very easy to get to and well worth it when you do.
With the log fire roaring and plenty of other customers in the bar it was a very welcoming sight. Deciding to have a well earned pint of continental lager myself and my group took up a table.
Feeling adventurous I ordered the rump steak. Although the bar and restaurant was busy the wait for the food was just about right.
Greeted by my large steak, perfectly cooked to order, it was accompanied by mushrooms, grilled tomatoes and chips. And proper chunky pub chips at that.
There is a tendency with these newly restored pubs to take their food too far towards high end cuisine and not offer you portions that you are looking for. Thankfully this wasn't the case. Everything was delightfully cooked and just the right amount.
Whether you live close or you need to travel the Swan Inn at Nibley is weel worth the journey, especially on the long, dark, cold winter nights.
