Untouched ! Is the only way I can describe The creator of Born Vain , Michael Cox art pieces on T - Shirts .... A native of East 87th street on the South side of Chicago and a well known member within this thing of ours 94 feet during the ball playing in the park days of the 80 ’ s .... Mike found his calling as an artist during a ILL time of his life . As Mike puts it : Michael Cox – “ my calling to do art came at a time I was down on myself . I was out of state in Atlanta with no job and my best friend , my mom had just died ... I just lost it one day and threw paint all over my house , all over the ceiling and walls , just everywhere . Then went to Chicago to go be with my family .... When I got back to my crib in Atlanta I forgot that I threw paint all over the place . So when I opened the door and seen how the ATL heat melted the paint off the ceiling and wall , I seen it in a totally different way than just being a mess . It hit me ! The Born Vain style was born right then and their at that moment . I felt like this was a gift to me so I can have a job to do now . It ’ s been a blessing for me every since that day .... For me to see well known international Artist take a private Jets from overseas to come see my Art show in L . A . then tell me my art is like no other ... That feels just like a nasty slam dunk or a wicked Shamgod shake & bake move .... Since that day when I got back to Atlanta and seen that paint melting off my ceiling like that , I ’ ve been hitting everybody off with the sweetness by creating my own style of Black Art on T – Shirts that looks 3-D .” Mike ’ s creation on T – Shirts has been rocked by some A – List Celebrities that reads :
