Lake Country Hydroelectric Generation: Reconnaissance Analysis Draft July 29, 2005 Planit Management Inc. Page 13 BC Hydro was able to provide the following information about this feeder and the related interconnection requirements: Feeder: Beaver Lake Rd., feeder 2551 WDS (check). terminates at Woodsdale substation; Revenue metering equipment: interval dial-up or monthly manual read; Line Requirements: BCH would install 1 span of 25 kV 3-phase primary service off Beaver Lake Rd. to customer disconnect switch; Protection and Control : There should be no upgrades required at the Woodsdale substation. Current protection allows for a maximum of 25% of 15.5 MVA (i.e. 3.9 MVA) to be added . As a rule of thumb, if the unit in question is less than half of this level no protection or voltage supervision should be required; Communications Equipment: IPP operating data/status telemetry to Area Control Centre should not be required. BCH recently raised the IPP plant rating threshold for data telemetry from 0.5 MVA to 1.0 MVA.
