The Frog in a Well 90 Anurag Agrawal is an eminent researcher working in Institute of Genomics & Integrative Biology (IGIB), Delhi. He is our senior from the the batch of ’89 and he went on for a career as a full-time researcher. So much so that, he has been awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar recently in 2014. He does translational research in respiratory disease. His lab of many things, has identified the critical role of mitochondrial dysfunction in the pathogen- esis of asthma and discovered the mechanisms by which mesenchymal stem cells donate mitochon- dria to dysfunctional airway epithelium, attenuating experimental asthma. Apart from mitochon- drial stuff, his group has developed computational tools for visualisation and analysis of complex medical datasets.
