The
Skies...
“The skies?”, Sarah looked at him doubtfully.
“Yeah, the skies”, he said.
“I know there are stars and planets in the sky,”
Sarah tried to sound elegant, “like the sun and
the moon.”
“Well, the moon is not a...”

Sarah asked try-

Tomas, her grandfather, was surprised
at first, for her voice woke him up from his day-
dream. He realized that he had been staring
at the heavens too long. Sure long enough to
make his granddaughter believe that she was
unattended.
“The skies, Sarah dear”, Tomas replied help-
ing her up, “Do you know what is in there?”
“I know,” Sarah cut in,” It is a satellite. It re-
volves around the earth.” She wasn’t quite sure
though. She heard it in class. She
had read it too. But everyone said
that Grandpa knew more than any-
one about the skies.
Sure he did. He was a scientist.
“That’s right, Angel”, said Tomas disfiguring
her hair with his palms.
“Are there dead people in the sky?”, Sarah
asked taking her headbow out to rearrange the
hair all the while cursing her decision to sit on
his lap.
“I wouldn’t know!”, Tomas laughed, “though
I’m sure that no one yet has proved so.”
“Anne believes so”, Sarah said.
“Well, then Anne must be stupid.”
“But, she has the most marks in class”, Sarah
retaliated proudly.
