SIDDHARTH SAI
Timelapses have always fascinated me. They amazingly capture the sense of transformation. It captures what the eyes can not see and well, is visual poetry. The technicalities of making a timelapse aren’ t complex. Anyone can learn the post-process basics of timelapse in a day or two, but it takes a hell lot of a patience to reach to the final stage.
I had once tried to make a timelapse of a sunrise from my rooftop which did not turnt out to be that good. I wanted to do a better one. This series is of Catharsis, Infest 2017 where the fine arts team decided to make a beautiful portrait using rangoli colours. Although the selection of the image I must say, is a bit eccentric, the execution of the team was simply splendid!
While I too helped in making the portrait, I slipped off every couple of minutes to go up the foyer to click the pictures. This resulted in a 380 photograph strong compilation which I finally made into a timelapse video. Kudos to Jagadeep, Swati, Rohan, Partha, Lakshmi, Mukul, Kinley, Ria, Dyuti, Renuka and Vivek for the fabulous work.
