A Rose amongst the Ruins

‘ Hostel’. It’ s likely to be my last year at AIIMS. It has been my second home for almost six years. But why am I so attached to this place? I am sure I have no attachment whatsoever with Delhi. I might, in fact, despise it. But beyond all that, we have our hostel, room, and the so-called comfort zone. We may entertain guests there but never do we truly accept them. It’ s not a sedentary life, but it’ s way too comfortable. Having not to worry about anything other than when they are going to finally kick us out, is a bliss! Thence we live. The hostel sometimes does on its own part to surprise us, cheer us and get us on our feet.‘ A Rose amongst the Ruins’ is all about finding that unexpected joy in an otherwise troubled mind.•
