forming or colliding somewhere, something we would detect using sophisticated equipment and ultrasensitive detectors. at fellow heard it in his sleep, people! You still think you are above him? One major prerequisite to understanding our world is to have humility. We listen to someone or something only when we think they are signicant. But the often forgotten truth is that every element of this universe came into being with its own purpose and value. It is said that to attain enlightenment, you need to open your ears wide enough to be able to hear the sound of the sun rising and a bud blooming into a ower. We seem to have forgotten that we are a result of a parallel evolution process and that we did not develop above other organisms but along with them. An extract from Robbins serves to be a prime example - “In total, the gut microbiota greatly outnumber human cells in our bodies, meaning that, at a cellular level, we are only about 10% human.” So are we still masters of our own selves? We are but vehicles or tools in the hands of the universe helping it to follow its natural course. Every leader who is born thinks that he needs to change the world. Well, sorry, that isn't in your hands. What we can do perhaps, is to be receptive enough to brace the change the world inicts on us. After all, a tender stalk that bends along the wind is never carried away by the storm. Amongst ourselves too, we are no less. We are immersed in the listless beauty of human emotions. e way a person responds to a situation or context succeeds a unique, intricate and more often than not, a logical thought process. But then, this is probably the “ P.S.- Let's hope that last line gets people to look out for their neighbours instead of saucers in the sky :P main reason for misunderstandings to develop among people. According to the pioneers of Transactional Analysis, every human being enters into either a parental, a child-like or an adult-like mode when posed with a scenario. When two people in a conversation do not reside in complementary modes, it leads to hassles and tiffs. Again, it boils down to our not being willing enough to understand or consider the thought process in the other person's mind. Some people call it ego. If we can appreciate the differences and similarities between each other, it would lead to a revelation of the great capacity of the human mind and the strength it would have, when put together. Added to this self obsessed nature is man's craving for progress. We do know methods to communicate with far corners of the globe in seconds, but are the reasons for communicating still alive? e exhilaration in tearing open a letter from a dear one far away cannot be compared to anything else. Technology's purpose was to easen this process but it seems to have curbed the very essence of the same. It is now more of a ritual to forward a greeting on a special occasion than to actually use the act of sending it to reminisce past memories and good times. e concept of true friendship is hardly heard of any longer. We have only acquaintances, the logic being that staying detached makes it easier to move on. But move on to what? Running along the pace of the world makes us more mechanical machines than social beings which we were originally designed to be. e innocent unbiased non-judgemental laughter of a ve year old or the relieved sigh of a sixty year old probably explain why we are called human. Before exploring what's outside, let's rst peep within. When we nd the colossus of things waiting to be discovered inside us, we might realise that despite everything, perhaps we are more alien in our own worlds than we think!
