Dear Golfers and Sponsors ,
Hafa Adai from Dandan Middle school STEM class and Garden Club . I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the Hyatt Golf Classic and Dinner . It is an honor to have been selected as one of the beneficiaries this year . Your participation in the fundraiser will assist our school garden club and STEM class further our goal of nurturing a generation of stewards for our land .
The funds raised will help us to develop additional activities that promote health and well-being of our island ’ s nature while fostering a healthy relationship with food production . We feel that our students which will become the future leaders of government , business and industry need this opportunity to connect in some personal way with our land .
The current projects we have in our school are our tunnel trellis ’ that are built using recycled materials and yield annual tomatoes , cucumbers , pumpkin , bell peppers and dragon fruits ; our 6 varieties of fruit trees ; our embryology program that teaches students about science and the respect for life with a total count of 48 chickens and monthly hatchlings and our aquaponics system that although it is under redesign and renovation but we still have mint , basil , dill , pineapple , taro , water-chestnut , and several tree seedlings and cuttings growing .
Once again our garden club and STEM class thanks everyone involved in making this year ’ s charity golf fundraiser a successful and fun event .
Sincerely ,
James Montenegro STEM Teacher Dandan Middle School Carden Club advisor
