Have a Plan to Stay Safe
Having a plan in place before a storm hits is one of the best ways to protect your family, home and business. Palm Beach County has developed an official Palm Beach County Hurricane Planning Guide, which can be found online at pbcgov. org / publicsafety. It includes key information, such as important phone numbers to have on hand, shelter locations, pet safety information and an Emergency Supply Kit that should be packed before the start of hurricane season on June 1.
Know Your Emergency Evacuation Zone
If advised to evacuate, do so immediately. Visit pbcgov. org / knowurzone to find your evacuation zone. Plan where you will go and how you will get there.
Shelter Safely
Identify the closest shelter in case you need to evacuate. Both pet-friendly and special needs shelters can be found online at pbcgov. org / knowurzone.

After the Storm
Plan for Service Delays
Residents should plan for Town services like garbage collection and permitting to remain suspended for at least three business days following a major storm. The actual length of time services are suspended depends on the severity of the storm. The Town will update residents on when services will resume using social media channels, website and the Town’ s resident information line.
