4 | HUNTSVILLE LIVING | WINTER 2020
ust like that, it’s a new decade! Like most of you, we said goodbye
to the 2010s holding on to only the best memories and letting ev-
erything else go along with the year that we’re leaving behind.
The best memories for me are experiences, rather than things.
We rarely remember the gifts that we have been bestowed over the past
decade, but we are quick to vividly recall the exciting times we experi-
enced. For me, its experiences like my birthday trip to New Orleans, cruis-
ing the Caribbean or the plethora of concerts I’ve attended. Although we
each might remember specifi cs differently, we all have kept the best of
those times in our memory banks.
Few memories are held more tightly than one’s wedding day. Here
at The Item, we love starting the new year off with a special edition of
Huntsville Living that pays homage to weddings. While styles and colors
may change from year to year, the feelings of love, hope and expectation
remain consistent as each couple exchanges their vows. A special part
of this magazine is our look at how several local couples prepare to ap-
proach their big day.
Whether you’re planning a wedding or just having a special event on
the horizon, you’ll simply love the other features found inside. We spot-
light the latest hair trends, venues and planning tips — are all waiting
right here for you to read.
Whatever special memories you’re holding from the last decade or the
ones you plan on making in 2020, please know that the staff at The Item
and Huntsville Living is thinking about you and wishing you nothing but
the best this year.
May this new decade bring you happiness, regardless of how it’s mea-
sured, and be fi lled with hope for the future.
