At home , York is married to Steven York , and have two children . Their children are their greatest treasures .
The Yorks met in high school . “ I never imagined we ’ d date or ever get married ,” said York . But love was kindled on of all places , Facebook .
The family began a journey of exploring God under the ministry of Pastor Jeff Hackelman at Family Faith Church in 2023 . York took the opportunity to dive into helping teach in Vacation Bible School , and says of her new-found passion for worship , “ it ’ s a fire burning in me .”
York escapes the long hours of work reading crime thriller books . “ Actually , I devour them ,” said York . Through reading I discovered that I might really make a good detective , because I can usually spot the guilty party early ,” said York .
This thirst for solving crime began in high school , where York took criminal justice classes . Those classes led to her teacher recommending her to an internship working with local law enforcement agencies , the City of Huntsville , and the Prison Museum . The impact of this internship led York to her first professional aspiration :
