SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER EVENTS Festivals , antique shows and more , there are lots of events in the area to keep your calendar booked .

HEARTS VETERANS MUSEUM MUSTER FESTIVAL When : Sept . 11 ( 10 a . m . to 4 p . m .) Where : H . E . A . R . T . S . Veterans Museum ( 463 Hwy . 75 N .) What : An annual festival honoring all veterans , active duty , first responders and correction staff . This is a free family event with bounce houses , raffles , demonstrations , an obstacle course , a car and truck show , vendors and much more .
HUNTSVILLE ANTIQUE SHOW When : Sept . 18-19 ( 10 a . m . to 4 p . m .) Where : Walker County Fairgrounds ( 3925 Hwy . 30 W .) What : The 18th Antique Show will be held in the air-conditioned comfort of the Walker County Fairgrounds . There is a $ 7 admission fee , while children under 12 get in free . The event will feature over 65 quality dealers from across the U . S ., offering a wide array of antiques to suit every budget and taste .
TOUCH-A-TRUCK When : Sept . 25 ( 10 a . m . to 1 p . m .) Where : Downtown Huntsville What : Hosted annually by the city of Huntsville ’ s Main Street Program , the interactive event is for children and the young at heart . “ Touch-a-Truck ” will allow kids the opportunity to climb on , learn about , and discover their favorite big trucks and vehicles such as police vehicles , construction trucks , fire trucks and more . Drivers and operators will be on hand to educate the public about their vehicles .
FAIR ON THE SQUARE When : Oct . 2 ( 9 a . m . to 5 p . m .) Where : Downtown Huntsville What : Over 400 vendors set up shop in the historic downtown , with everything from jewelry , home décor , apparel , and many more treasures . The Kids Korner , a haven of fun for children of all ages , includes balloon artists , petting zoo , monster mural , face painting , free arts and crafts projects and much more . The Food Court will tempt you to taste fair specialties such as homemade root beer floats , freshly squeezed lemonade and sweet tea as well as kettle korn , corn dogs , barbecue and anything fried you can imagine . Local bands entertain the crowd in the Beer Garden on Saturday from 11 a . m . to 5 p . m ., while spectators spend the afternoon enjoying an adult beverage or sipping a soft drink . The Wine Knot provides a quaint atmosphere for patrons to sip and taste wine from many Texas Vineyards .
SCARE ON THE SQUARE When : Oct . 30 ( 2 p . m . to 6:30 p . m .) Where : Downtown Huntsville What : The annual Halloween event will feature games , activities , giveaways , crafts , and trick-or-treating for all ages . Get in the spirit and dress in your best Halloween costume to be entered into the costume contest .
