THE HEART OF RIVERSIDE Daisy ’ s Diner offers some of the best comfort food in the area

Daisy ’ s Diner has been a Riverside staple since its opening in 2012 .

The diner serves up southern comfort food on top of adorable decor and goods made by local creators and businesspeople .
Owner and operator , Elizabeth Hukill originally opened a breakfast and bakery shop off Hwy . 190 in Phelps , but moved to her current location in Riverside to expand her business . Since then , she has been giving back to the community she grew up and went to college in .
Hukill has a passion for people , she is always sure to build relationships with her employees , be they long-term or seasonal . She shares these connections with her customers as well , making lasting relationships within the community and keeping patrons coming .
Evidence of the love that Hukill has for her community and staff is evident upon entering diner , as she and her employees treat each customer as family .
“ I love people and I love talking to people ,” Hukill said . “ Everybody that comes in here pretty much becomes family , which is why our slogan is ‘ enter as strangers , leave as friends ’ because we get to know all the people that come in here .”
Born and raised in Walker County , Hukill graduated from Huntsville High School in 2001 and from Sam Houston State in 2007 with a Bachelors of Business .
Today her diner offers traditional southern style cooking with everything from delicious burgers to catfish . Dont ’ forget the sweet cobblers and pies and country store that features signs , jewelry and accessories .
